Those are all male names, however. Finding female names is way more difficult. I know of Tanoute and Ese (Isis, apparently). The vast majority of them, however, have Greek roots, IE Demiana, Marina, Verena, Mona, etc. There's also Mariam, but that is adopted from Arabic and/or Mariam, understandably one of few Arabic names more popular among Copts. That's not to say that there are not Coptic names that have been -arabized- (indicated by usage of "b" in replacement of "p"). But like I said, there are purely Coptic names that are not adaptations of historically Greek names! This does not mean they were not "Hellenized" as the Coptic is written largely with a Greek script. 1.) Abanoub/Apanoub 2.) Abanoub/Apanoub 3.) Papnoute/Babnouda 4.) Pamoun/Bamoun 5.) Hi! I'm Coptic. So to answer your question, the Coptic language took hold when Egypt was a part of the Roman Empire. Greeks had been living in Egypt, naturally, but when the Ptolemies were defeated, thus began Greco-Roman Egypt. Copts thus adopted many of their names as Coptic variations, but in the situation of Arabic, there are no "Coptic" variations of Arabic names. They are just Arabic (the conquests called for erasure of non-Arabic, so that was simply not possible)
