THE DOOR BURSTS OPEN , fester comes barreling into the cavernous foyer. sunken black hues snapping left and right , frantic. “ WEDNESDAY !? ” he bellows , the man is practically rattling with excitement. an impatient little hop from foot to foot before he’s racing up the stairs. calling out for the children all the way up.  he spies his gloomy niece poking her head out of her room and he’s bouncing from foot to foot , clapping his hands. “ WEDNESDAY !! come on , outside ___ quick !! ” he exclaims.  

       “ THEY’VE HATCHED. ” 

‘  haven’t  you  ever  slaughtered  anybody  ??  ’

‘  CROSS  MY  HEART  &&  HOPE TO               have  my  skull  caved  in _____  ’  well  ,  she  knew  the  rest  of  the  old  saying.  (  ‘ &&  have  my  eyes  pecked  out  by  ravenous  vultures. ’  )  she’d  exasperatedly  mumble  the  words  along  with  him. fester  was  knelt  by  the  girls  bed  ,  tucking  her  in  with  a  bedtime  story  to  coax  sweet  nightmares.  

another  BERMUDA  TRIANGLE  story  ,  wednesday’s  favorite.  though  she  always  pointed  out  his  inaccuracies  ,  she’d  still  ask  him  to  tell  her  more.  

‘  right  in  the  middle  of  a  cyclone  ...  i  was  having  a  wonderful  time  !  ’  a  brief  scowl as  he  goes  on  ‘  then  a  big  bright  light  shone  through  the  waves  _______  ’   interrupting  his  perilous  fun.  he  waves  his  hands  animatedly  above  his  head.  ‘  and  i  was  taken  ...  onto  their  ship .  ’  he  claims  with  a  smile.
