aerest ha risposto al tuo post “To that anon asking about vegans - I thought vegans ate nothing but...”
I think the step from vegetarian to vegan isn't that huge anymore. If you can't simply have "some meat" anymore you start paying attention to what you could eat instead. I'm master of throwing several kinds of vegetables into a pot or pan and then a) adding water for a soup or b) cooking rice to combine with c) cooking noodles to combine with. Just by using different vegetables your cooked dish varies extremely and it's still a matter of some 10-20 minutes of work.
fair but eh idk I mean if I had to look up everything I buy that has milk or eggs or animal derivates of that kind it still would make a difference - like idk how big it is when you’re already vegetarian but let’s say the two times I baked vegan muffins... let’s say soy yogurt is an acquired taste when it’s in sweets ;) anyway I live on carbs so I don’t even eat that much meat in the first place xD

THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE
aerest replied to your post “is the referendum result really that bad for the EU as the media is...”
The German media is quite gloomy, especially as Renzi appears to be the last (?) openly pro-Europe politician in a higher position. What do you think, how will things continue in Italy? Austria did well yesterday, but all in all the recent global political developments leave me kinda puzzled.
oh the electoral results in Austria are like a beacon of light in an ocean of shit, ngl :’) I think Italy is going to have a transitional government for a while, long enough to change the current electoral law and then we’re having elections; alternatively, we’re having elections with the current (incomplete) electoral law, the so called “italicum” (now applied to the chamber of deputies but not to the senate... don’t ask, it’s a raging mess). Voting with Italicum means none of the current political parties ~should~ have the numbers to rule on their own unless they form a coalition, and since M5S (currently the first political force numbers-wise according to polls etc.) isn’t keen on forming coalitions of any sorts, chances are we’re getting a ruling right-wing coalition led by or featuring Matteo Salvini and/or Berlusconi. Worst case scenario, a coalition between Salvini and M5S... we would never get rid of them *maniacal laughter*; best case scenario, somehow the democratic party makes a miracle and still gets the majority, but I doubt it.
Regardless, I’d say Italy isn’t in immediate danger of taking any irresponsible action against the EU like leaving. The anti EU sentiment is growing, but it’s still not strong enough and most Italians are just as terrified to leave the EU as they are chafing under its politics. Italy is simply not as strong and influential on its own as the UK is, and most Italians are literate enough to understand this. So I guess it’s still unlikely that a party that has leaving the EU as part of its political program is going to win---not alone, at least. But the referendum’s result remains alarming in the context of the general rise of populism/alt right in western countries, and I’m sure it will affect negatively our country in terms of its international/economic credibility (also because those who have the highest numbers of voters are complete incompetents who are perfectly capable of sinking what remains of this country in an attempt to please the masses).
It remains to be seen how, but I think it’s time the EU starts seriously working on its public image, because the populist/anti EU parties thrive on the fact that it comes across as a borderline villainous association of bankers, capitalists and white collars of the worst sort whose secret agenda is to exploit “the people” and further impoverish them while stripping the local governments of their sovereignty.
