John's workout # 3
This weeks workout is best done in a group ( or groups) of three. It can be adapted though. There are 7 segments. Target time is 50 - 60 minutes. 1. Dailly Dozen (regular version) 2. 1/2 mile or 5 minute run 3. Daily Dozen with 15 reps of each exercise. 4. same run but 20% quicker 5. Team event: Put three markers 40 yards apart to make a triangle and place a team member on each. If you have 6 people 2 people per marker. Nominate a start person who will do 10 reps of the first exercise and then sprint to the next person, when they arrive, 2nd person repeats. Once all three have gone. Do next exercise. There are 12 exercises - Jumping Jack Push Up Burpee Mountain Climber Jumping Jack Push Up Burpee Mountain Climber Jumping Jack Push Up Burpee Mountain Climber If you want - do it twice :) Next segment: Core superset: 2 times Crocodilles Scissors Steam Engine Dolphins Push outs Finally - The home stretch. Nature is his gym – and it could be yours as well
When it comes to the traditional fitness plan of working out in a gym, author John Colver of Fit By Nature believes the industry has got it all wrong.
“The fitness industry has not done a great job of getting people into shape,” Colver said. “I think that’s because it is so gym-oriented. The way to get in shape is to get outside and do things you enjoy like hike, climb, run and go cycling” (Tacoma News Tribune).
