I’ve been *very* remiss in Christmas posting this year—especially since we’ve had our tree & the rest of our decorations up since just after Thanksgiving! (Alas, when do I ever post things in a timely manner??) One of my favourite traditions is the advent wreath. (This year, I chose pastel candles!) The main greenery & pine cones are an artificial wreath, but I supplemented with some natural pine bits from this year’s Christmas tree! Today, the 24th day of Advent & Dressember Susan has a few moments of quiet alone before family awake or arrive for Christmas. These moments are precious as they afford her a time of contemplation and prayer, a time to become grounded in the presence of Christ. Taking time for restorative prayer as well as prayer of intervention for our struggling world is a way of doing good. Susan is looking forward to wearing a festive dress for Dressember tonight for the sweet candlelight Christmas 🎄 Eve Service ⛪️ where her local community gathers under the stars ✨ to sing carols. At the beginning of December, Susan shared the meaning and significance of Dressember with this same community. They support the work of @indiapartners to rescue women trafficked into prostitution and the children born to them in the red light district. This lovely German advent candles was made in Eastern Germany 🇩🇪 before the Berlin Wall came down. Susan received it as a Christmas gift from many years ago. It is a wonderful reminder that positive change is possible.
