What was faith if it went untested?
Samson believed, foolishly, but he still kept faith that the son of Artemis would open his eyes again. Lit a candle for him with his devotions, and he said his prayers with Adrian at the forefront of his focus. A few hours each day, generally after lunch, were slotted to fix himself in the chair in the corner of the other's room. Mostly to read, occasionally to just talk at Adrian as Samson had taken to doing previously.
Today was different from the others, because when he reached the ward - Adrian was gone - and Chiron's face was beaming back at Samson as he relayed the good news. He'd apparently awoken, then headed out shortly after. Finding him came easy, Samson's first instinct had been the right one.
"You're up." Not a question so much as a very obvious statement of fact. The lingering suprise ebbed, then gave way to joy, “Welcome home.”
