You ever just... fall MORE in love with a character?
I don't know how to explain it better than: 1) I'm autistic and it often drives me crazy trying to navigate the maze that is my own brain 2) having a compulsive need to create new characters and a desire to keep your character roster minimal means combining characters that are very similar 3) combining two fairly well developed characters makes them more them 4) characters designed to make fun of your younger self are lovely and adorable and perfect
To be more specific, here's a mockup I'm working on of a character whose name can't stop changing:
He's 14 and a chuuni, a tsundere, a bit of an incel, and clinically depressed. He's dramatic, gullible, imaginative, and standoffish. He doesn't know how to make friends and actively pushes other people away. He tries to look cool in front of others but his version of cool is guys like Chat Noir and Kirito. He's pathetic and perfect and I love him.
