It felt like weeks since he'd seen her. Years, even. Remus kept hearing the incessant echo of his mother's 'don't tell anyone!' speech over and over. He had told his best friend about his lycanthropy and she had pretended everything was okay. She had even hugged him. Joked with him. And then, bang! Gone in an instant.
He was tipsy already, no doubt drinking his feelings, rather than drinking about the loss of his house team. He found Adonia sitting idly by the fire, half-watching Declan pout and half-pretending to look elsewhere. He slid into the couch cushins next to her, staring at the fire as he spoke. He was well-aware that he'd spent minimal time speaking to the Greengrasses, something else due in part to his being a werewolf. But he needed to know where she was. "Have you..." He paused, licking his lips. "Have you heard from her?" He asked, so quietly he wasn't sure she'd heard.
