Good question! We’re answering this publicly because it seems like a question that many people can benefit from; we hope you don’t mind. The short answer is no, as the rare candies are meant to reward your activity here at Journey and help you advance your character and Pokemon. You are allowed to apply rare candies to Pokemon previously at the level cap -- the level cap only applies to applications. Hopefully that clears things up!

Yes, it certainly is! In fact, we’d love to see one of those occupations here. It’d certainly be fun and unique!

Hi, anon! That’s a great question. As of right now, trainers are allowed to plot out battles with the Gym Leaders, regardless of the fact that the positions themselves are not filled at the moment. However, since the Gym Leaders that do exist in the roleplay are the higher-leveled ones, it would be difficult for any trainer who hasn’t been in the roleplay for a while (to earn Rare Candies and thus level up their Pokemon) to beat those Gym Leaders. For the time being, while the positions are unfilled, you are allowed to imply that your character has earned badges for those empty Gyms, provided that your history supports it!

However! This is under discussion by the admins, as we understand this may pose some potential for unfairness, and therefore will probably change soon, to find a better solution! Please stay tuned for an announcement in the future. :)
