"A Different Blue" by Amy Harmon
"A Different Blue" is everything you want in a perfect novel: romance, mystery, a hint of spirituality, self-discovery, and pure friendship. Blue is a messed-up teenage (?) girl with a haunting past that has pushed her into the arms of comfort in questionable choices. Slowly, she finds herself being freed from those choices with the help of (Mr.) Darcy. She discovers herself in her art and promises for the future and finds real friendship as well as answers to long-asked questions. I took this journey with Blue multiple times, and I am as drawn to her story as I was the very first time. I am left so incredibly satisfied at the end of this book. Amy Harmon is on my very small list of favorite authors because she absolutely never disappoints me. She writes so beautifully, and so perfectly, giving her reader the perfect amount of everything. With Blue, there was sadness like I could never fully understand, but there was also so much hope - an unmistakable hope that you could feel as her story blossomed from page to page. And we all need a little more hope, I think. Read "A Different Blue." Buy it. Stick it on your favorite spot on your shelf, because you will come back to it. You will find yourself remembering Blue's story and everything you felt with her - needing to feel all those things again.
