Man I have 3 art ships to do. The good news is that I stopped with an art block now but the bad news is procrastination. If anyone is having procrastinating issues and knows what to do, please let me know what to do with it.

This might be rlly dumb or obvious tidying advice for people struggling with executive dysfunction but incase it helps:
You can tidy messily, you don't have to wait for the motivation to make something super perfect and organized.
Clothes everywhere? Put clean stuff away unfolded in the right draw and make a laundry pile in the corner of your room.
Tons of books everywhere? Shove them in a draw or make a little pile off to the side.
Messy desk? Just tidy away the big things and deal with the rest later.
This may be super dumb advice but for me once I stop worrying about having it all be super neat and perfect its waaaay easier to start cleaning.
Doesn't have to be tidy it just has to be tidy enough
This is one of those take if applies to you type posts because ADHD is different for everyone as well as varying levels of burn out or other psychical and mental disability.
Something I’ve found super helpful to initiate specific tasks, it’s easier to have an adjacent task that may be easier, higher priority, or more fun to.
Specifically for me, I load the dishwasher while I’m cooking or eating if I’m eating by myself.
Obviously don’t touch nasty dishes and then your food / cooking tools and don’t put your hands in your mouth, but if I’m cooking and have to wait 5 - 30 minutes for something to cook, I load the dishwasher and wash my hands between steps.
Or if I’m eating it’s usually something non crummy and able to be held with one hand, but if the plan was to clean the floor anyway then it doesn’t really matter.
It’s more about proximity and getting yourself up and to that place, as well as letting your adhd brain task jump productively.
Heck if you want to clean an area, put a snack in that room or an object you have to go get. Charge your phone in another room if you want to get up to do something later.
It’s a very don’t take your shoes off approach, obviously there’s still SOME momentum required, but it helps me keep up with some things because I’m so horrible at forming routines and habits.
anybody here with ADHD who has any tips on how to slow down and or stop impulse spending/shopping - especially for new hobbies/hyperfixations?
ADHD havers!!! I have some questions!!!
what are some strategies that you have that help you work productivity? how do you work with or against how your brain works?
for those of you who've tried medication, did you consider it helpful? what effect did it have on you?

Writing lists on your body is the ULTIMATE ADHD hack. Everyone says "write things down so u don't forget it" but underestimate the fact that I can also lose the list I just wrote. I have yet to lose my arms, so that's where my lists go.
Hey Tumblr, help a girl out: is the term "ADD" considered, like, offensive or anything? I know it's dated and not used by doctors anymore, but would anybody get insulted if I say that informally because it's shorter and sounds nicer (to my ear)? Same with saying "AuDD" for combined autism and "ADD". For the record, I myself have inattentive-type ADHD (what used to get called ADD back in the day).
Running todo lists have been helpful
