When Daisy Calloway made her first appearance, she was perceived to be the epitome of fun with no emotional baggage, but little does we know, she’s been suffering behind the scenes. She’s my sweet, courageous girl who loves intently with all her heart; who is very perceptive and understanding of others; who always make a point to make everyone feel included. She’s loyal, wild, and reckless, but never at the expense of others. Thank you for valuing yourself, for making yourself–your own priority, for valiantly following your unconventional dream that would bring home, and sense of belonging to a lot of kids that feel alienated. Thank you for standing up for your stance, it is tough and there’s a long way to go, but you’ll get there. Thank you for smiling and for showing everyone, mentally ill girls have a lot of reasons to smile. Lastly, thank you for existing because your kindness is never overrated. You are visible, you are loved, you are v a l u e d.

The reason I love Lily isn’t just because I relate to her so much (though it is the majority of the reason) but it’s because she’s the strongest female character I’ve ever met. She proves that you don’t need to be a physical threat to be strong and you don’t have to be the person who kills people and leads a revolution to be strong. She shows how the everyday person can be strong by simply overcoming their struggles and fears, by finding the best love that they can, and by becoming the person that they want to be. Lily overcame her incredible battle with her sex addiction and is so much stronger for it because she now knows what it means to be in control and to be happy. She exemplifies what happens when not only others believe in you, but what happens when you believe in you. I love my fairy and I will always love and believe in her. Lily Calloway changed my life.

i love lily calloway for so many reasons, more than even written above. she has overcome so much and i am so proud of her for never giving up and for believing in herself, even when others have told her not to. she’s a nerd and proud of it, she has so much love to give, and she is one of the realest characters ever written. i love you, lily!

Her dedication to remain herself and protect and support those she loves are some of the most admirable aspects of her character. She refuses to change who she is to fit society’s idea of who she should be, and she would walk through fire (all in high heels) if anyone in her family needed her to.

The Forgotten Sister. Being the youngest, I’m often left out among my siblings. It can be painful. But Daisy holds no malice. She’s full of sugar and spice. She has evolved into such a strong person and I love her for that. I fall in love with characters. Krista and Becca have given us 6+ characters that have changed and evolved and grown into a group of family that loves and supports one another. And if that’s not Goals I don’t know what is. They may be Family by marriage and Blood but more than that they are chosen and fated and the magic conch has spoken, drawing these people together for the better, and Sweetheart Daisy has captured my attentions from Day one. From her theories, to her blinding smile, to her need to make sure everyone is happy. She’s just magical and so enduring. She makes me want to be a stronger person in a way different from Lily and Rose. She shows that they’re is no right way to be, to live, to exist, simply moving through life as you are and feeling unashamed of what you want, unashamed to pursue it, that’s okay. Daisy speaks to the adventure the soul seeks. She’s a pure soul .
