Sweet but Psycho | SigRyn
Waking in through the courtroom doors Sigyn was confident in her reasoning for being there, to prove her friend’s innocence. Aeryn was on trial for murder, a murder they both knew she didn’t commit.
As the proceedings began, a sly grin slipped across her crimson lips. The plaintiff sounded like such a fool to those who knew what really happened. Of course there was only two of them who knew what that was.
When she finally had a chance to speak, Sigyn stood up and straightened her blazer. With two sets of photos in her hand she walked up to the judge and handed out a copy. “Your Honor. The plaintiff here claims that Ms. Jameson murdered Mr. Walters the night of 29th, and then promptly discarded the murder weapon. Though when they came forward with this accusation the murder weapon had yet to have been found and they were basing their argument solely off of the prints and such they had found at the deceased’s house. But the defendant was a friend of the deceased’s and had visited their house on a few occasions, which is good reason for there to be so called ‘evidence’ at the crime scene.”
Turning on a heel, she took a moment to hesitate and look over at the investigator trying to pin the crime on Aeryn. He wasn’t too far off honestly in claiming it was her. Aeryn wasn’t a friend of Mr. Walters, and she had been there during the murder. But it still wasn’t her.
Looking back towards her friend, it should have been alarming with how well these two could lie. They’d become professionals at lying by this point. Hell, somehow Sigyn was able to lie her way into being recognized as a viable lawyer for this case without having ever gone to school for law or taking the bar exam. It was just her charm and cunningness that got her where she was.
“You see Your Honor, because I believed my client’s innocence I hired my own team of investigators to look for the murder weapon’s whereabouts.” Another lie. “And they found it.”
Hand held out, she showed off the photograph of the murder weapon to the crowd. “When the test were ran it was proved that this was in fact the weapon that killed Mr. Walters. The prints discovered on the weapon did not match the defendants. Unfortunately, the database has yet to discover to whom these prints belong. But I guarantee, if you find who’s prints these belong to, you’ll also find Mr. Walters killer.”
Sigyn turned to look at the judge as he looked over all the evidence in front of him. He knew all too well that there was no way to prove it was Aeryn now, and that what Sigyn had found cleared the defendant almost entirely.
The judge looked to the Plaintiff Lawyer, and then to Sigyn. “In the case of The State versus Aeryn Jameson, the defendant has been found not guilty. Case dismissed. Officer Hinton, please release the suspect to their lawyer.” He knocked the gavel down and took his leave.
Sigyn collected her belongings she had sitting out and turned towards the stand as she waited for Aeryn.
