Despite numerous definitions, the nature of intelligence continues to be elusive. However, the idea that some individuals are brighter or smarter than others is accepted in human society and reflected in language descriptors of ability (Chamorro-Premuzic, 2007). Roget's Thesaurus, for example, provides the following synonyms for intelligence: acumen, aptitude, brainpower, brilliance, discernment, information, insight, knowledge, learning, news, notice, report, sense, smarts, understanding, wisdom.
