People talk about the cultural disconnect between generations of the future due to climate change. They site things like “kids won’t remember trees were green” or “they’ll not believe the sky was blue” or something. But while that may happen-that gap already exists. And not in just the “pessimistic about the future and yet trying our best to change it” attitude is gen Zs have. I’m talking how I was watching a movie yesterday and a character was standing in the rain, being all happy, and then they opened their mouth and drank rain water, continuing to be happy. And it took me a second that for that character the rain doesn’t taste like poison, and I was so shocked I said it out loud. My parents were confused (and annoyed I interrupted the movie) but my siblings were agreeing. Climate change and our effects on the environment will cause problems of the future, maybe the examples above. But it’s already hitting.
TLDR; climate change is now, there is already a generational gap due to it, and anyone who says otherwise is a coward.
Sadie Roberts-Joseph, 75, an activist and founder of an African-American museum in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was found dead in the trunk of a car. The cause of death is unknown, police say.
