Most of the population age 60 and above, tend to have at least 1 or even up to 4 different prescriptions from various specialists. However, we often miss to assess whether these medicines are suitable and work well with each other without causing drug interactions or reactions.
PHARMONY is a service created by RESTORY where we do a detail pharmacological audit and let you know if you should reach out to your treating Physician for changes in medication.
To put it simply PHARMONY collates all your medicine and pharmacological data to give you the best possible advice on your prescriptions, or to re-assure you that all the medicines you are taking work well with each other.

n the occasion of World Elderâs Day 2022 we at Team Restory.in wanted to share with you, not wishes or unwanted positivity but instead share something we read that left a significant impact on us.

âLast year, I had a conversation that changed my life. It caused me to upend everything and move across the country. The lesson from it may change yours:
I was out for a drink with a friend. Weâll call him George. As we settled in, George asked about my life and how I was feeling.
At first, I gave him the standard response that weâve all grown so accustomed to:
âIâm good. Busy!â He stared blankly through my empty words.
Feeling the pressure of his gaze, I adjusted myself and added that living in California had begun to wear on me, it being so far from my parents on the East Coast.
I had been 3,000 miles away for the last 12 years. And with the path I was on, there was no end in sight.
The moment of vulnerability sparked an interaction that changed my life:
George: âHow often do you see your parents?â
Me: âMaybe once a year now.â
George: âAnd how old are they?â
Me: âMid-sixties.â
George: âOk, so youâre going to see them 15 more times before they die.â
Gut punch. I took a deep breath. It wasnât meant to be rudeâit was justâŚmath.
If the average life expectancy is ~80 years, my parents are in their mid-60s, and I see them one time per year, the mathâhowever depressingâsays I will see them 15 more times before they are gone.
Our time together is finite, but we often fail to recognize it until itâs too late.
Time is cruel. Youâll love it with all of your beingâyou may even pray for more of itâbut time doesnât care about you.
Your relationship with time is the ultimate unrequited love.
The morning after this conversation, my wife and I had a very candid conversation about what we wanted in life.
A few days later, we listed our house in California on the market, packed up our things, and shipped off to the East Coast to be closer to our parents.
Itâs been over a year since the conversation that changed my life.
Iâll never regret these tiny momentsâof doing nothing in particularâthat weâll spend together in the years ahead. Iâll never regret the moments my parents get to spend with my son. Iâll never regret any of it.
It brings one takeaway to life: Our time with our loved ones is so limited and precious.
All of this mathâdepressing as it seemsâshould be a call to arms.
Identify the people and activities you care most deeply about. Prioritize them ruthlessly.
It may be difficultâeven painfulâbut itâs a decision youâll never regret. We spend most of our lives playing a game. Everything we do is in anticipation of the future. When that future comes, we simply reset to the next one.
âI canât wait until Iâm 18 so I can [X].â etc etc
Itâs natural, but itâs a dangerous gameâone that we will lose, eventually.
Time is our most precious asset and the present is all thatâs guaranteed.
Spend it wisely, with those you love, in ways youâll never regret.
I hope this thread sparks some of you to have conversations with your loved ones about time (and who you want to spend yours with).
By the way, the point of this thread isnât saying that any decision about where to live is *right* or *wrong*.
We all have to reach our own conclusions.
These are often very challenging decisions with a variety of complex trade-offs.

Active Age
Ageing is mandatory. However, how we choose to address our ageing challenges is very important. One of the most critical aspects of life is that after spending the first 2 decades of our lives in the pursuit of education, the next 4 decades in the pursuit of family and financial requirements, it is only after the age of 60 that we get sufficient amount of free time, and financial independence to follow our passions.
It is always a big surprise when, after the age of 60, when we meet our friends, we realise that some of them look very fit, and active while others struggle with multiple medical and physical issues. This has always been a mystery for a lot of people, because of the fact that nobody wants to be bedridden, or incapable of being able to perform their day-to-day activities comfortably. For the founding team at RESTORY this insight into ageing and trying to solve the mysteries of ageing and body deterioration has been one of the triggering factors to start RESTORY.
As our founder Dr.Harsha noticed that, his grandfather at the age of 97, was still able to travel by public transport and have a very happy social life whereas few other members of his family were struggling by the age of 60 or 65 to be able to walk without pain.
We always maintain that the human body is a large, complicated, organic machine and just like any other machine if we take adequate precautions and care it will last for a very long time.
The 3 critical components for keeping your body healthy are: -
Active Age is a specially designed programme to help people above the age of 55 get the required physical exercise to help keep their bodies functionally fit. Functional fitness does not require having a six-pack or the ability to do 100 sit-ups. Functional fitness means being able to do your dayâtoâday activities such as climbing stairs, playing with grandchildren, performing household chores and occasionally being able to perform a strenuous physical exercise without having the sensation of shortness of breath, muscle pain or feeling fatigue.
Unfortunately, the common choice of exercise at this age is walking. Walking is an easy enough exercise because it is social and there is no specific timing or machinery required. Unfortunately, while walking is a good source of cardio exercise, it does not sufficiently engage necessary muscles and these days it is also dangerous because of traffic. One of the bigger issues with walking is that it puts more than the required strain on knee joints and ankle joints.
We have extensively researched, both with our own patients as well as with leading publications and journals about the right kind of exercise for people older than 55 years. This requires a combination of engaging your Cardiac, Neuro, Pulmonary, Musculoskeletal Systems and all joints of the body.
In collaboration with leading specialists and physiotherapists, we at RESTORY have created a platform called Active Age which can be done both online as well as offline. Active Age is designed to give you a functional workout in 30-40 minutes without the requirement of specialised machines or facilities. You can combine Active Age along with your walking schedule and it is also designed to be enjoyed and fun to do along with your children or grandchildren.
