Hello Citizens of The Blogosphere,
If you follow me on Instagram, you might already know that earlier this year… I got engaged! Even though this happened several months ago (in July), we haven’t really had any time to plan the wedding or even set a date. Regardless of how slow the planning process is taking, we are both very excited to start a new chapter in our lives.
July 5, 2015: The best and most memorable part of our vacation by far. #engaged #roses #tucson #arizona #love @annotatedaudrey
Within a week of getting engaged, I started a project to create a mini album to commemorate the joyous occasion and perhaps to display at the wedding.
Here is a gallery showcasing my mini album, including tips on how to make your own scrapbook pages stand out…
#gallery-0-5 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-5 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-5 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-5 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Doodling can help make a plain layout stand out.
Varying the size and placement of photos can help create a dynamic layout.
Some people say photo cut-outs are cheesy… I think they create a cool effect.
I love using old maps as scrapbook paper.
Cutting photos to the same size can help keep the composition balanced.
Finding new ways to crop your photos keeps things interesting.
Stamping!
Then and later… Photo comparisons are always fun.
Keeping the background consistent creates one continuous layout.
A heart in the middle ties both sides together.
Pay attention to the colors in your images when you are designing your layouts.
Photo placement is everything! To create a dynamic look, let the photo hang off the edge and snip off the excess.
Our engagement weekend! Who needs stickers and fancy embellishments? Use your photos to decorate the page.
The end of one chapter signals the beginning of the next.
Do you want to learn how to create one of these albums?
Stay tuned. Next week, I will give you step by step instructions on how you can make your very own mini album.
As always, thanks so much for taking the time to read this post.
