hi sorry if this is weird but i saw your post abt hacking your acnl town and i was wondering if you could tell me how you did it? i can only find guides from around 2017 and am cautious about following them in case it messes up my 3ds.

This website here has everything you need to know about hacking your 3DS first. It has a couple different methods depending on what 3DS you have but there is a method for all of them!
Once itβs hacked, make sure you have Checkpoint as one of your homebrew apps.
You can use that app to upload your edited acnl saves.
Then, thereβs a website you can use to edit your acnl saves once youβve backed them up using Checkpoint.

Just find the garden.dat or garden-plus.dat file in the Checkpoint saves folder, and upload it to the website and change whatever you need! Iβm sure there will be guides for the website you can look up if you need them.
