Levi is making model airplanes again.
Mikasa stops just short of knocking, momentarily distracted by the loud arguing of gulls near the house by the sea. She understands.

I don't think Levi will die just yet at the vert least
I mean, he's "humanity's strongest". So having him die just like that is anti-climactic for someone like him. Well yeah, sure, he's lived long enough okay okay, but we all know that heroes or main characters etc. at least die in a dramatic or glorious way, something with a bit more dignity that could live up to their rep. It's like an unspoken rule.
Besides, we only got to the whole Ackerman bonding and titan experiments, meaning we've just dived into their family lore. And to understand them further, the only two known living members of the clan must survive in order to further understand them.
Plus, if what some of us are telling is true about Zeke forcing or initiating an Ackerman bond with Levi, then at least there's more to explore with that, right?
And also, I feel like as long as Levi's promise to Erwin(to kill Zeke) remains in the open air, he would most likely be sticking around until that moment. I mean, it's not an assumption, you've seen how the Ackermans fight for something they believe and are willing to protect, right?
Lastly, this is more of an additional reason - so let's pretend he lost that fight with Zeke. Okay, hurt, etc... so, correct me if I'm wrong, but there was this post that stated that Hanji, after being forced to watch Shadis get beaten up by the Training Corps to prove their alliance to the Yeagerists, and also observing a towel-wrapped Falco react like electricity went through him(Zeke's scream triggering that), she was ordered to take Floche/or whoever he's allianced with to Zeke's whereabouts. So they arrive there to discover no one had survived, yadih yadah, and then what? Bruh, they've literally lost this battle already
like she doesn't know what happened,
either they don't know where Levi went or they've come to the conclusion that he died
they're literally running low on their soldiers, specifically those who are strong enough to defeat Zeke. Sure, Mikasa's there, and I don't doubt their skills, but Levi is practically the most compatible arch-enemy for Zeke. Having that monkey-brain die in the hands of another despite all that built-up plot about Levi finally killing Zeke seems out of the blue. But yeah, I'd be a bit more open with this, it's still possible that someone else will kill him.
So, she just went there, saw the mess, and yeah nothing she could do at that point, right? Heck, what else could they do?
So, in my personal point of view, it would cause a lot more plot holes and of course, problems, if Levi were to die at that point. Well, that or I just feel like it would be too anti-climactic for him plus it would cause more of a mess to the storyline and whatnot.
But hey, this is like a good news that would be worthy enough to celebrate for the New Year
So yeah
Happy New Year!
You guys can't honestly tell me you didn't see the family resemblance
