One player familiar with what Celebrini might be experiencing is Bedard. The two were teammates in 2014-15 as members of the North Shore Winter Club Under-10 team. They, along with team captain Aiden Celebrini, helped the Vancouver-based club win a league championship as two of the youngest standouts that season, and since then have occasionally skated together when they’ve returned home to Western Canada.
kinda funny that all three of them are on the same team (04er 05er 06er), with aiden presumably the only one actually playing in his correct age group. possibly why he had the C? how many of the other kids were also playing up?? dunno.

lol i literally got chills listening to that podcast. he like flip flops from sounding extremely self aware to having zero self awareness. it’s bizarre but also, i sometimes get that same vibe from mack. is it like just intentionally being like “have a 5 second memory” thing that athletes do so they don’t stew in the bad feelings? or is he genuinely a horrible person. who can know! perhaps the most bizarre thing is how obvious it is he’s not sure how to talk about his experience parenting aiden. now obviously i’m not an aiden celebrini expert but dang, i might know more about him than his own father does atp. lol. yikes.
Its also soo unclear how much of it is him coming in with a specific audience in mind and/or using all the same rhetorical moves that work well in an nba meeting room... but yeah the mix of clear insight into how you Build A Culture but then giving himself the out of well if any of them wanted to quit and do music we would be soooo happy to facilitate that! But then no follow up on the obvious point that theres zero space for these kids to figure out they like anything else... + the sly tacked on "well obviously commitment and follow through is expected" re: only making kids do what they want to do LMAO.
Tbh its really interesting how theres that emphasis on being good people but not emphasis on being well rounded people. And the zero discussion of academics was reallt shocking to me... Which is just my own striver mentality speaking from a different view point.
Im honestly not even really judging or anything, it overall felt like a Be A Normal Parent Instead of A Crazy One beginners class, and maybe people need to hear that... its just a lot of interesting material for level 40 scholars of the elite (jock or otherwise) mind.
Ia though re aiden LOL i swear there was some article that said aiden was the artsy one but that wasnt mentioned at all. honestly i was surprised he implied that aiden is gonna go pro like are we serious?? Is rick allowed a little delusion for the first born? If aidens ceiling is the ahl does he allow that when the bodily damage calculus is a lot different? Idk. I thought it was sooo funny how smug he was about his kids still loving hockey / loving it is the only way to be high level and keep playing long term, not like THOSE tortured kids with the DEAD EYESSSW lmao. but obviously i am sooo invested in the idea of loves that are bad for you.
