aceavengers replied to your post: Man Iām feeling so discouraged.Ā I love this show...
i think you are kneejerk reacting emotionally to this. do you think anyone is reacting with pride for molly being killed? no! they are all sad as hell! matt was crying! of course mollyās death is going to have meaning to it.
Hoo boy you couldnāt have missed the point more, like I donāt even know where to start with this response.Ā Iāll be brief in case this was genuine confusion in good faith instead of just being argumentative for the sake of it.
They werenāt reacting with pride to him being killed, but with what leaving his death as hopeless will add to the story.Ā Some people feel that those kinds of deaths add to the story (which is why ASOIAF is an immensely popular story as both a book and tv series), and as Iāve described in the past, those elements are what makes a story not for me.Ā This is a personal thing and not something Iām saying everyone has to feel--and Iām not even making a conclusive statement on the show.Ā Iām saying that IF this is the kind of story it will be, then I canāt see myself remaining invested, because of how little Iāve enjoyed similar styles in the past.Ā Trying to twist my words into an accusation like this is stirring up drama that doesnāt exist, and Iām not going to rise to the bait.Ā Ā
P.S. you might want to proofread your responses with aĀ āhow condescending and judgmental does this soundā before hitting that reply button
im still so confused as to how all these reviewers loved the movie? and are saying it's the best one since the emperor strikes back? all i know is disney sure has a lot of money....
Iām not usually one to get into conspiracy theories, but IāM SURE that a lot of critics (the official ones in charge of the rotten tomato score for ex, not the casual reviewers) got paid to give a positive review.
Because like i said, it happens that critics loathe a movie that the audience loves, it happens quite a lot with blockbusters actually (the most recent example is Justice League). But the opposite is quite rare, and when it does happen itās not to that extent. How come the criticsā grade is 93% on rotten tomatoes but the audienceās grade is 56% and it keeps going down? How come on that other website TLJās metascore is 86 but the user score (aka the audience) is 5.2?
Iām not saying that none of the critics liked it, but such a big difference is really weird.
i think hen it comes to Rick Riordan the gay and trans progression was planned from early on. He just had to make sure the publishers didn't yank his books or anything by starting with only straights. She he started with all straight white kids. Then in the next series there were more PoC. And so on and so on.
Itās really been a joy to watch.Ā
Itās important to note too, that even though the first few books are all white straight kids, they are white straight kids who are all dyslexic and have adhd, with those traits being portrayed positively and as a source of strength for the characters. So even the starting point was pretty good, and itās only gotten better.Ā
I donāt know if Rick planned to get all the way to where we are with the Magnus chase books- with Muslim Valkyrie girls and gender fluid warriors and mute elf magicians. But itās certainly wonderful that we got here somehow.
omg wow u were so on point with your post 3 weeks ago about mon el being a frat boy only wanting to be a hero to impress and spend time with kara???? damn how u so psychic.
Haha Iām not psychic, though Iād like to think Iām pretty knowledgeable about superheroes and television, respectively. The basic tenets of Mon Elās personality are that heās a frat boy, he likes Kara, and he has no altruistic desire to help peopleā¦even going so far as to belittle Kara for wanting to do so (and heās probably a Daxamite prince, woopty fuckin do.) Kara/the writers have pretty clearly been trying to push Mon El into becoming a superhero.Ā So what motivates a frat boy into helping others and becoming a superhero when he has no inherent motivation to do so? Spending time with his crush. Thatās it. Thatās the only reason. Heās not becoming a superhero or more altruistic person out of the goodness in his heart. He wants to get in Karaās pants, nothing more.Iāll give you another psychic prediction, @aceavengers⦠one I wish wouldnāt happen (not because I donāt want Mon El to leave, but because I donāt want him with Kara, ever.) Ā Mon El WILL go back to Daxam by the season finale. The writers will want you to believe that spending time with and being inspired by Kara has motivated Mon El to become the leader his people need him to be. Maybe there will be the slightest degree of truth to it, but most of the fandom will be beyond done with him by then, if not the show in general. They will also play up the ātragicā aspect of him having to leave Kara because there is a strong possibility they will be together by then. Cue the following cliches:Ā -Mon El asking Kara to come with him.Ā -Kara telling him she canāt; āYou belong with your people/your place is there; I belong here/my place is here.ā Ā -Kara will cry.Ā -A gross dramatic goodbye kiss.Ā -As heās leaving in his spaceship/transmatterporter/Stargate/whatever, Mon El will either call out for her to hear or whisper to himselfĀ āGoodbye, Kara Zor El of Krypton.ā Kara, likewise will sayĀ āGoodbye, Mon El of Daxamā either right before or right after he leaves.Ā -Kara cries some more. Reassuring hug from Alex, if not a group hug from team Supergirl, minus James. Canāt have the black ex love interest there.Ā This is all nauseatingly cliche, overly dramatic garbage. And that is why itās exactly within the CWās wheelhouse.Ā The fact of the matter is itāll be tragic, but only because Kara will be crying over the guy who stole an entire year of character development from her. She wonāt have grown as Kara, aside from being a reporter instead of an assistant. She wonāt have grown as Supergirl. Aside from being single again, sheāll basically be no different or better off than she was a year ago. That is the real tragedy for all of us.

time travel really is banned from media after this, itās so ridiculous. first kingdom hearts, now this, ugh.
I havenāt seen it yet tho Iām gonna probably find a bootleg and watch it that way, but I have read the synopsis of the whole thing so I know what goes down with all the time travel and whew!!! it was all a mess! sending steve back just doesnāt add up!!!
