I’m not saying that none of the critics liked it, but such a big difference is really weird.

I don’t know if Rick planned to get all the way to where we are with the Magnus chase books- with Muslim Valkyrie girls and gender fluid warriors and mute elf magicians. But it’s certainly wonderful that we got here somehow.

Haha I’m not psychic, though I’d like to think I’m pretty knowledgeable about superheroes and television, respectively. The basic tenets of Mon El’s personality are that he’s a frat boy, he likes Kara, and he has no altruistic desire to help people…even going so far as to belittle Kara for wanting to do so (and he’s probably a Daxamite prince, woopty fuckin do.) Kara/the writers have pretty clearly been trying to push Mon El into becoming a superhero. So what motivates a frat boy into helping others and becoming a superhero when he has no inherent motivation to do so? Spending time with his crush. That’s it. That’s the only reason. He’s not becoming a superhero or more altruistic person out of the goodness in his heart. He wants to get in Kara’s pants, nothing more.I’ll give you another psychic prediction, @aceavengers… one I wish wouldn’t happen (not because I don’t want Mon El to leave, but because I don’t want him with Kara, ever.)  Mon El WILL go back to Daxam by the season finale. The writers will want you to believe that spending time with and being inspired by Kara has motivated Mon El to become the leader his people need him to be. Maybe there will be the slightest degree of truth to it, but most of the fandom will be beyond done with him by then, if not the show in general. They will also play up the “tragic” aspect of him having to leave Kara because there is a strong possibility they will be together by then. Cue the following cliches: -Mon El asking Kara to come with him. -Kara telling him she can’t; “You belong with your people/your place is there; I belong here/my place is here.”  -Kara will cry. -A gross dramatic goodbye kiss. -As he’s leaving in his spaceship/transmatterporter/Stargate/whatever, Mon El will either call out for her to hear or whisper to himself “Goodbye, Kara Zor El of Krypton.” Kara, likewise will say “Goodbye, Mon El of Daxam” either right before or right after he leaves. -Kara cries some more. Reassuring hug from Alex, if not a group hug from team Supergirl, minus James. Can’t have the black ex love interest there. This is all nauseatingly cliche, overly dramatic garbage. And that is why it’s exactly within the CW’s wheelhouse. The fact of the matter is it’ll be tragic, but only because Kara will be crying over the guy who stole an entire year of character development from her. She won’t have grown as Kara, aside from being a reporter instead of an assistant. She won’t have grown as Supergirl. Aside from being single again, she’ll basically be no different or better off than she was a year ago. That is the real tragedy for all of us.

apparently this is allegedly how steve’s character arc was supposed to go all along and makes perfect sense and it is actually we who have become boo boo the fool and don’t understand movies and character arcs

I haven’t seen it yet tho I’m gonna probably find a bootleg and watch it that way, but I have read the synopsis of the whole thing so I know what goes down with all the time travel and whew!!! it was all a mess! sending steve back just doesn’t add up!!!
