hey everyone!! If anyone has done a 2nd or multiple rounds of accutane, can someone lmk if the purging is as bad as the first round? I'm thinking about doing my 2nd round of accutane but the purging was HORRIBLE. im hoping it won't be too bad the 2nd time??

dry skin warriors, what lotions do you recommend ? accutane has me fighting skincare demons i've never dreamed of before
Is it bad that I kinda like the feeling of having cracked lips? It just hurts so good

2024 skin update.
It's crazy. I started this blog when I was 21. I'll be 30 this year. And it's been a hell of a ride. But I can confidently say, my skin is something I don't think about much anymore. I've gotten three CO2 laser treatments, micro needling, smooth glow laser treatments. Albeit expensive, but so worth it. But despite all the treatments my scars are still there and I'm still very acne prone. Having acne has been a blessing and curse. You have to learn to love yourself all over again and i was already dealing with low self esteem when I first got it. But over time I've learned to accept myself and reframed my thinking. I take good care of my skin and I guarantee I probably wouldn't have if I didn't go through this. Acne is normal and nothing to be ashamed of. For any of those who've been here from the beginning or stumbled upon this blog along the way, thank you for being here and I hope this blog helps anyone who's struggling with the same thing. You are so so beautiful and acne will never take away from your beauty. You will always be beautiful to me no matter.
Take care 🩵
hey accutane survivors: any advice for someone who just started?
If you’re on or starting Accutane/isotretinoin here are some tips I’ve picked up.
Jack Black’s Intense Therapy Lip Blam is the holy grail for dry or peeling lips. Aquafor alone didn’t work on my lips and neither did Vaseline.
For dry skin put on your moisturizer and seal it in with Aquafor or Vitamin E oil. You can use Aquafor to seal in your lip balm as well. I like to add an overnight face mask at night (I like the Clinique moisture surge) before sealing it.
Put on your lotion right after showering and use a body oil or spray Vaseline over it. Carry hand lotion everywhere. Apply it as much as needed. You will likely get dry red patches of skin.
I also started fish oil and vitamin E supplements to help with joints.
