Fear Hacking With an Accountability Coach - Never Suffer From Procrastination Again I know an owner of another highly respected program for coaches who claims that “accountability is overrated”. Why? What reasons does he give? Here’s what he says: “People say they want accountability, but no one really wants accountability.” “Most people blow off accountability (like new year’s resolutions).” “Most people blow off their coaches.” I can't help thinking that he says these things because he doesn't understand true accountability, or doesn't know how to provide powerful enough accountability for his clients. Maybe he just doesn’t want to take the time? Regardless, here’s my response to each of his reasons, one by one: HIS REASON: “People say they want accountability, but no one really wants accountability.” MY RESPONSE: Who cares what people want? The reason they're not getting results is because of what they 'want'. Your responsibility as their coach is to push them beyond their own selfish wants and needs. If you don’t do that, what good are you? What are you charging for?? HIS SECOND REASON: “Most people blow off accountability (like new year’s resolutions).” MY RESPONSE: Telling yourself you’re going to do something is NOT accountability. Telling other people you’re going to do something is NOT accountability. People have talked up a storm since the beginning of time… ...but aren’t accountable at all. Make a million promises, and you’re still not engaged in accountability. HIS THIRD REASON: “Most people blow off their coach.” MY RESPONSE: Sure, if their coach sits passively by and allows it. That’s easy to do. I think this is more of a personal observation about his own clients and coaching style, rather than what’s possible in a true accountability coaching relationship. You’re not going to blow off a committed coach who cares. Don’t make these mistakes. Learn and use accountability coaching, and your clients will transform their lives and businesses. #lifecoachingbusiness #startingacoachingbusiness #successcoach #successcoaching #accountabilitycoach #accountabilitycoaching #SuccessCoaching #AccountabilityTechniques (at Master Coach community)
