PICKS, PICKS, PICKS - Week 14
We don’t know about you, but doesn’t it feel like the football season just began? It is the start of the month of December and football is going to be going away soon. In the meantime, there’s a lot to play for. A whole lot to play for with ITZ’s contest as Willie and Donny are dead even for the season with 166-110-2 records. Dwayne’s got some time to make up the nine game difference, but time is running short.
College football has reached the very end of the regular season and when next week starts, we will know the four teams who will play for the National Championship. The Big 12 is yet to be decided with Bedlam as Oklahoma State faces the Sooners in Norman. Don’t be surprised if the light bulbs on the scoreboard are lit up…a lot.
The conference title games to be contested include: the MAC as Western Michigan looks to clear another hurdle on their way to a New Year’s Six bowl game, Washington collides with Colorado in the Pac-12 with the Huskies seemingly having a CFP spot at stake, Conference USA with the guys from Ruston (Louisiana Tech) looking to top Western Kentucky, and Navy hosting Temple for the American championship. The two teams who squared off in the first two SEC Championship Games are doing it again for the 25th title game and the second straight year in Alabama and Florida, a rematch for the Mountain West title from a couple of weeks ago with San Diego State and Wyoming going head-to-head following the Cowboys one-point win in the first contest. DeShaun Watson and Clemson are seeking their second straight ACC Championship, but face a test in the Virginia Tech Hokies and the two squads ranked sixth and seventh in the latest CFB Playoff standings, Wisconsin and Penn State, hook up in Indianapolis for the B1G title.
In the pro ranks, some interesting AFC vs. NFC matchups are on the docket for the week with the Chiefs looking to ground the Falcons and the Packers hosting the AFC South leading Texans. Also, two of the first three QBs taken in the 2004 NFL Draft will face off as Eli Manning and the Giants will tangle with Big Ben and the Steelers. It’s time to start fighting for divisions and Wild Card spots in December so pay extra attention to the Lions at Saints, Dolphins at Raiders and Bills at Raiders. Who do we believe will win? Take a peek at our picks.
