#accf mod

Well, for starters I had always wanted to do something like this, I had gone through the tutorial hosted on NPCtool's website quite a few times, I noticed ofc that the version of Paint I had been using to edit the textures just wouldn't work.

I chatted about this on an ACCF discord server I was in and someone who goes by antimony found a version of paint that worked! I told them I would try it and I forgot 😭, 3 years later I remembered and I began to work!!

I wanted to make my cat Marraqueta, I've modded her into the game before, the other 2 times were for New Leaf and for City folk...

Though that last one was done using Dolphin's texture replacement feature, which is cool, but I think having the mod kept inside your save file is cooler, since I don't have to use any external tools to load it up!

So after choosing my base (Tabby) I designed this quickly. I would then use this drawing as a reference for when I drew over the original textures!

I also used Dolphin emulator's texture replacement feature to test how it was finally going to look like:

Admittedly this was the creepiest part lol... but it was so helpful!

This helped me with the positioning of the features, after a lot of trial and error I was left with a drawing like this:

So I began actually drawing the needed textures!!

I told myself I was going to draw them all in a higher resolution, then I would resize them, but that would've taken sooo long, so I went with the pixel art route.

and FINALLY I could use that old version of mspaint to import the textures over the original ones.

I had to change the colors to Tabby's colors, import them onto the tool, then upload a new color palette that had my desired colors 😵‍💫

After that I just set the details I wanted, like her clothes, her catchphrase and name (including it in other languages), and other stuff that makes each villager unique.

And I was done!! I was lucky enough that I had access to my Wii when I was working on this, so I could actually upload it to my save file 😆

After I had done all of this, NPCtool stopped working with my Dolphin save file, so I wasn't able to install her there, but I at least got her on my wii 🙆‍♂️
