I've wandered the midnight forest.

I've felt the gooseflesh on my skin.

Seen the dark moon waning.

Watched the shadows creeping in.

I've prepared for devastation.

I had settled all my costs.

But when I reached the darkness,

I wasn't at all lost.

I revelled in the abyss.

Danced in shadows sway.

The creaking trees my partners.

In the forests bleak embrace.

Hours passed, the sun arose,

My new friends fled away.

But not alone, was I left,

With the gleam of the day.
