Twelve years after the Infinity War, the untimely death of Charles Xavier, and the complete destruction of the Xavier School, mutants and those with other abilities were left without a place to call home. Enter Tony Stark, multi-millionaire philanthropist, who wanted to atone for past sins by helping to set up a new school to train the new generation of heroes and protectors. He established a new school to which he named Academy X after the late Charles Xavier. Tony opened the doors to not only mutants but other young people from all walks of life who were either born with or had gifts thrust upon them for various reasons, including the children of his fellow comrades in arms.
Upon hearing of Tony’s plan, a few of his former teammates from the Avengers as well as alumni of the Xavier School and X Men decided to join him in his venture. Some took jobs at the school as instructors, some as part of the medical center staff and others worked in administration. Even the newly rebuilt SHIELD took part, sending a few agents to either recruit for SHIELD among the graduating class or to help out as teaching assistants or regular class instructors. The school became popular and houses the gifted youth from all over the world.
