This sounds so amazing... what could have been...
if only they cared and focused on the historical aspect of combat a bit more
no fire arrows causing ships to blow up they’re not black flag canons for fucks sake! so purely ramming-based combat and mechanics
no hoplites just running around without formations and acting like they’re some shitty gladiators or part of God of War... what’s worse all of this as a part of war-oriented experience...
I mean, I love visuals and the attention put to detail there but the above kinda breaks my heart and makes this experience a nightmare. But the one I’ll eventually force myself to experience for the visuals... because it’s just too tempting...
You never expect 100% accuracy from these games but at least be accurate with the main premise which IS war in this case and Greek tradition of military. Even if things such as lack of proper battle formations in AC3 happened in the past... it wasn’t a big deal since the environment and setting were mostly within cities so you fight with patrols and guards, not war formations. besides these were deleted due to the limitations of engine/hardware which is NOT the case today And there was no ‘war’ element to gameplay in those past titles which seems to be a big case here, partially with Origins and explicitly so with Odyssey
Anyone feel the same? And is it any different and less painful in Origins?
