Hereâs some garbage about Floyd and the vampire world Iâve built with @deathbetweenmyteeth
Extra (about Floydâs mysterious momma): Â Natalie is a powerful, albino witch. Sheâs literally the White Witch, the only one of her kind, but she never had daughters. It is expected sheâll pass her art onto an heir, but the lack of a daughter has driven her further into her practice, trying to create a fertility spell for one. A loving mother, Natalie dotes on Floyd, but never teaches him anything. Heâs a boychild, and cannot learn her magicâit is forbidden. Anyway, she promised Dave she would leave him out of it. When he finds out she used her magic to save his life, Dave threatens to take Floyd and run. Natalie forbids it. She insists she loves their boy, but Daveâs fear of her magic drives him into the arms of the Church. He insists Floyd has been tainted by her. He convinces CPS his wife is criminally insane and is able to have her committed, their marriage annulled and manages to start anew with his 8-year-old son, training him up âin the way he should go.â
VAMP LINGO
Family - A group of vampires related by blood; exclusively a maker and their progeny
Nest - A group of vampires that arenât necessarily all related, but still live together
The Council - The assembly of head vampires (typically all of the oldest vampires) chosen by Mother. The council is main authority, but must default to Motherâs judgement.
Fractals - Vampires that are employed by the council to act on the councilâs behalf.
Sectional Representatives - Vampires appointed by the council that represent a specific population of vampires.
Servants/Assistants - Humans chosen by specific vampires to serve them and only them.
Managers - Humans assigned to assist vampires, typically in travel and in daylight.
Stewards/Attendants - Lower ranked humans that are really nothing more than muscle and blood. They take orders from the manager to do whatever task the manager assigns them.
Blood Dens - A location where a vampire can drink from a living person.
Blood whores - The humans from whom vampires drink in dens.
Blood lust - Intense vampire hunger for blood.
Blood sick - The illness a vampire receives from drinking tainted blood
Blood bar - similar to a den, but instead of drinking directly from the source, Vampires receive blood in a cups or in containers to go.
Blood Lords - The vampires who run blood dens
Bloodtenders - Those who serve at Blood bars (most of the time not a vampire)
Coven incorporated - The nickname given by vampires to the various blood services groups run by witches
Irregulars - Vampires with abnormal abilities.
Purge - A specific and organized killing of irregular vampires, initiated by the council to keep the population under control
Culling - A specific and organized killing of regular vampires.
Aeternae - Two vampires that have been declared by the council to be an eternal couple. This is not a bond that can be broken, annulled, or removed. To be declared aeternae, vampires must jump through a fair amount of hoops.
Admixtus - The marriage between a vampire and a human.
Compel - The inherent ability of a vampire to make the will of the victim theirs.
Hunters - Humans that are trained to hunt and kill vampires. The Council has their own specific faction of hunters that they use whenever they need. (Essentially the councilâs human assassins) called
Darkstar - the largest guild of ârogueâ huntersâmany of the originals were, indeed, trained by the vampires to do the councilâs dirty work (since, by council laws, it is illegal for a vampire to slay another, that is, vampire on vampire violence is HIGHLY frowned upon)
