But the truth is, she never went to school other than a nanny that taught her how to count money, read, and write. She is friendly immediately, although she may tease you even if you’re strangers. She’s usually smiling even when she’s making a disgusting joke. She is passionately loyal to the people she allows herself to get attached to. She is certified in sarcasm and tricking people into letting her get her way. I wouldn’t call Dani mean – unless she needs to be or she is set off. She has a bit of a temper that she inherited from her father, and her quips are all in good fun. She’s a goofball, she loves to laugh. She’s insanely brilliant, sometimes she wonders if she would have got the education if she would have become something other than a drug dealer. B I O G R A P H Y Straight from the day she came out of the womb she was underestimated. Her parents always heard, “are you going to have a boy to lead the family business?” except in Spanish and the family business being drug & gun cartel. Her father was a legend in the world of crime (think Italian mafia gangsters, El Chapo, etc), he is unstoppable, feared, respected – everything that you would want for the man who ships kilos of cocaine through the borders. They never hid it from her, either. When she was three, she saw her first murder. From the hands of her father in her backyard. It’s fuzzy, but she still remembers it. At seven, she held her first gun. At ten, she could shoot you out of the water. Her father was strict, no matter the business he had going on or who was trying to kill him, he made sure he had a bond with Dani. Her mother was always distant, quiet, but stunning. But he loved her deeply. Which was why when she died, he was almost broken. Pushing his daughter away, he sent her on the first plane to New York and told her to start a new life. He put 200 grand in her bank account, and kissed her goodbye. Daniela would be lying if she said she didn’t miss him, and didn’t feel the longing to scream at him for letting her go right after she lost her mother. But she grew tough in her core, letting things bounce off her and only doing exactly what she had known how to do – drug deal. Opposed to what her father probably wanted, she was desperate for an escape from her mind and she wouldn’t touch them herself, she only indulged in cannibas. The Latina girl has lived in New York serving hundreds of customers for four years now, creating connections and making herself known. She still has dreams, but that’s all they are and she knows it. This is who she’s meant to be. Messy, complicated, criminal, a Castro.
