((I’m doing this for John because I think I did one for Jack a while ago)) :)
NAME : John Michael Sullivan AGE : 40-ish (varies by verse; 20 years older than Jack). SPECIES : Human GENDER : Cis Male; he/him ORIENTATION : Straight IDENTIFIES AS: Male PROFESSION : He loves boxing the most, but he’s done a lot--factory work, construction, bartending, working at the docks, bouncing, whatever puts food on the table. In some verses he ends up building sets at Medda’s after he gets out of jail.

{ PHYSICAL ASPECTS } BODY TYPE : Stocky and muscular--broad shoulders and a barrel chest. HAIR : Sandy, going grey at the temples. EYES : Blue SKIN : Originally Irish light, underneath forty years of sun and wind exposure :p HEIGHT : 5′10″
—————————————————————————- { FAMILY } FAMILY : Catholic Father, Michael O’Sullivan, and Protestant mother, Mary Kilpatrick, who insisted that her son be raised Protestant (including dropping the “O” from his surname) in the hope that he wouldn’t be as looked down on as Catholics were at the time. When John’s nineteen, he marries Sadhbh (Sarah) Kelly, and they have Francis (Frank)--aka Jack--the next year. Sadhbh gets pregnant again four years later, and they would have had a daughter, but she and the baby both die in childbirth.
In some verses, John ends up marrying Medda, and in one of those, they have a daughter named Minnie. He also becomes a father figure to several of Jack’s friends.
SIBLINGS : None, but several uncles of various ages, some of which are more like brothers. ANY PETS? : yes [ ] || no [ ] verse specific [ x ] (he loves giant dogs) —————————————————————————- { SKILLS } Physical Prowess : Great fighter (both boxing and street fighting), very strong (esp. upper-body strength), tough and resilient. Speed : Not fast at all :p Where Jack uses speed and agility to wear opponents down, John relies on force and simply outlasting them. In modern verses, he’ll go on jogs with Jack to build cardio...but he’s not going to move any faster than a shuffle. He’s definitely built for strength, not speed. :) —————————————————————————- { LIKES } COLORS : Blue and green. He likes natural, kind of muted colors that remind him of Sadhbh’s quilts and the fabrics/clothing he grew up with. SMELLS : food cooking, whiskey, night rain, the perfume Sadhbh’s former employer gave her as a wedding present that she wore on special occasions (it was a small bottle and she wanted to make it last--she ended up dying before it was empty, and John brought it with him through several moves) FOOD : John LOVES hearty food like beef stew and shepherd’s pie--he’s definitely a meat-and-potato man--but with that being said, he’ll eat pretty much anything. In modern verses he’d like having chips or popcorn while watching a movie, and he’d carry snacks like beef jerky or apples to work. DRINKS : Before going to jail, he liked beer and whiskey, but after that he avoids alcohol. He drinks coffee in the mornings and throughout cold days, water and Gatorade when he’s working out, and he and Jack both love milk and Coke (which they drink out of the carton/bottle too often. Whoops.) ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES? : yes [ ] || no [ ] (depends on timeline) FAVORITES : Frank, being able to hold the woman he loves, boxing, football, big dogs, a good meal, Irish pubs, ceilis, and being able to take pride in his work, his kid(s), and himself.
