Atlas references Chrono, as they are the main character and lead the party for most of the story. They also use a sword like Chrono does.
Janet references Lucca, as her appearance is somewhat similar to Lucca’s, as is her behavior. She is also Atlas’s close friend, as is Lucca to Chrono. She uses a gun, just like Lucca does.
Cornet references Marle. She is determined to do things her way, and she immediately becomes close with Atlas. She uses various guns, which are meant to be a vague reference to how Marle uses a crossbow.
Rem references Ayla. She lives in a somewhat prehistoric-looking area, and she is very strong and responsible. She is very in-tune with animals, and it’s her mission to fight off a foreign force.
Ash (somewhat) references Frog. Phi is seen as abnormal by the group at first, but phi proves to be a very good party member.
Serena vaguely references Robo. She is very interested in robots and claims to like them more than people. After joining and helping the party, she is shunned by her own peers.
Lariat references Magus. They are a dark magic user who lives secluded in a mansion, and despite being seen as a threat to the people who know them, they join the party.
