Sovereign: program that users spend long attention time with (Ex. Word Processor) 

Icon and graphic can be subtle because user often grow familiarity to the software 

Aim to the intermediates, because of having to spend time with it for long, users are more likely to learn 

Take max screen estate 

Transient: program that users comes to check and go (Ex. Weather app) 

Should be moveable 

Screen should be smaller 

Graphic must be brighter and users 

Should have instruction built into the interface 

Daemonic: program that runs invisibly inside the system. (Ex. printer/ network) 

After having the persona in mind, you have to build the scenario in which your persona lives in. By listing out as many context as possible, you are able to draw the requirement for the product. 

Steps in building scenario and identify requirement: 

Product problem and vision statement 

Brainstorming 

Identify context scenario 

Construct context scenario 

Giving requirement 

1. Emphasize on user’s goal and work back into features, not the other way round. 

2. The implementation models is often disconnected with user’s mental model. The role of the designer is to marry those two by a good representational model. 

3. Design should aim to serve the intermediate users, help beginner to get to intermediate as soon as possible(by provide cohesive model of casue and effect) and let alone the expert. (kidding, but I mean the expert user soon find their way to new features)

SCRUNCHMAN- (noun)  a “face” created by the dimples and folds on the back of a bald  or buzz cut head

For example – We need a photography project capturing all the scrunchmen among us.
