Ok so I'm not saying Ballad is above criticism or anything, but I will say that the part of the fanbase that's like:
"I can't believe for THG prequel we got a stupid villain story instead of [Finnick/Haymitch/Johanna/Annie/etc.'s] hunger games story like we all wanted"
Are really saying what they didn't want was an expanded discussion on the political, philosophical, and social commentaries of the original series, and what they really wanted was to ignore all that to instead ogle at violence and suffering for entertainment, and it's really giving
