Randy Cunningham 9th Grade Ninja post
Lil nervous to share, but I made a past ninja oc (along with some other ocs that are important to him and his time as the ninja)((also apologies if something doesnât make sense, Iâm writing this at midnight and scheduling it to post later))
I introduce to you all: Oliver Fowler, the Ninja of 1867
Yes, this man right here is Theresaâs great grandfather. Why? I thought itâd be neat.
But more about that later, here is more talk about him:
I feel like there were (very rare) times the Ninjanomicon chose an adult. And only doing so if there a circumstance/event that a teenager couldnât handle as well. For Oliver, it was because of the Civil War. Along with that was showing the attributes most favored for a Ninja. He was a very outspoken man about fairness and equality, and wasnât afraid to stand up against those with more power and higher status. He had a soft heart and cares deeply for his friends and family. He has an optimistic but realistic outlook on life. He thinks things through and is able to process information for a quick and good outcome. (Iâm bad at describing personality of my characters so Iâm gonna make doodles of him later)
But he isnât without a few flaws. Despite his quick thinking, he can sometimes overthink and over complicate an answer. Sometimes not even seeing the obvious (he got anxiety like me fr). And he has gotten into a few rough patches due to his fairness attitude. Not to mention he has the worst throw known in the 1800s. Which isnât great when you have to use smoke bombs as the Ninja. But heâs able to compensate that with the âSmokeBomb Shooterâ (itâs just a gun that shoots smoke bombs. Thatâs it)
In his civilian life, he works as a tailor. Technically as part time (more accurately as âpiece workâ wage) in order to balance Ninja Work and his family life. Speaking of which⊠he has a wife and child. Now, Iâm aware this could infringe on Ninjanomicon rules to a great degree. However I counter with âwhat if a ninja had a kid during his cycleâ and could not stop running with it.
So I introduce Oliverâs wife: Margaret Fowler
Yeah, she and Oliver are the same the age about. And did indeed find out about him being the ninja on their wedding day (before the ceremony no less) and by god that was a wild few hours to get through emotionally. Margaret is going: âwhat the fuck do you mean youâre the ninja?â Now Oliver is extremely aware of the danger of having his wife know about his identity. Donât get me wrong. But he canât exactly find a way to excuse himself out of this, so he kinda just⊠tells the truth. And he begs to not tell anyone else. Margaret, thinking this over and a long conversation with Oliver, agrees to not tell anyone and wants him to still try be apart of their life. She thinks she can handle four years of her husband being a ninja. Just as long as he still comes back alive.
Margaret is quiet and reserved. She prefers keeping to herself and away from the spotlight. Not to mention, she can firm and blunt when the situation calls for it. Sometimes she pulls her husband out of the patches he gets into. But when you get to know her, you find thereâs a lot more than meets the eye. She is a friendly and gentle young lady that enjoys the small things in life. And she has great fondness for Oliver (as he does for her)((golden retriever and black cat couple lol))(((again, I suck at explaining personalities. So expect doodles)))
Unlike Oliver, Margaret comes from a wealthy family. And while she did have the opportunity to marry to a man of equal status, she prefers living in Norrisville. At least there is some pressure off there⊠until her comes for a visit
Which nows leads us to the baby: Abigail Fowler
Oliverâs and Margaretâs little Apricot. And a mini-ninja!
Okay, now this is definitely a doozy. So, it all started the summer after Abigailâs birth. Margaret suddenly became ill out of nowhere. And Oliver had no clue how or why. Thatâs when Margaretâs family came in. Seeing as Margaret would be too ill to care for Abigail and Oliver needing âbetter time to care for his wifeâ offered to take Abigail to their hometown. However, Oliver felt like this was way too coincidental. Maybe even planned⊠and thatâs when he finds out about another enemy. An enemy like the sorcerer (not the sorceress, this one is âšblueâš) is close by also looking into stanking victims and freeing the sorcerer. Oliver, who would rather have his wife kill him then let her family take Abigail into a possibly more dangerous situation, does the dumbest thing he thinks a ninja could ever do.
He makes a ninja mask replica. Albeit not a complete copy, due to having to use fill-ins for most of the material (considering some would be to dangerous to get ((tengu)) or inaccessible) with magic plantlife. While the side-effects left for weaker attacks, it got more buffed in defense. Which Oliver was more then okay with (we do not need a baby throwing around hydro hands). Ninjanomicon had mixed feelings/messages, so Oliver never knew if the book approved or disapproved. Margaret did tell Oliver he better keep their daughter safe and unharmed or the Ninjanomicon will be the last thing he sees (still prefers that than sending Abigail off). The biggest trouble? Explaining to the citizens of Norrisville how he got a baby.
But onto the lil girl. She is a bundle of joy and extremely energetic. And a little troublemaker. Both with and without the Mini Ninja Mask. She is also, of course, a baby reaching toddlerhood. While she can be a giggling bubble, she still has her moments of learning to live for the first time. Thank Ninjanomicon her Mini Ninja Mask protects her. Along with her Fatherâs parental instincts.
There is gonna be another part for ocs part of Oliverâs story. The new blue sorcerer-esk villain being part of that. Iâll leave you with my filler name of the villain for a hint: âThe Amalgamationâ
