Like children calling out to their father, the carvings sing in the presence of the Caster. The runes on the end of his wooden staff lowly hums alongside as if it hears it’s kin; if a knowing servant or magus can deduce that the old wizard’s staff is actually Gungnir, it could lead to a disadvantage. This would be quite annoying indeed if they were to attempt any sort of stealth in the future, but a hurdle that isn’t out of the god’s realm of power.

The man leans down for a closer inspection. To have so many intricately written on one’s own magic circuits must have taken an extremely long and painful process, or done by an experienced magus. Or both. But no one else has better control over the runes than he does. There’s a chance he could quell them, or even remove them if it doesn’t kill her but--
