When I write essays, I first try to decide what my assignment asks me to do or say. In other words, what is the main question? I try to brainstorm about my topic and create an outline before creating full paragraphs. It enables me to focus on my main point and determine how each paragraph will support it.

When I start writing, I am more concerned about writing than tightening my prose.  While writing the first draft, I try not to edit too much as that can break my flow. When I finish my writing, I walk away from it for a few moments then come back to it. When I revise, my first concern is the structure of my work the clarity of my argument and the logical flow of my ideas before moving on to the level of wording, grammar, and so on.

From my experience involving different parts of the internet, writing content involves putting pen to paper with purpose for a particular audience and platform. Content is not about words, it is about the shaping, presentation, and delivery of information so that it fits the publication it is going into. Make sure to consider the platform you are on and tailor your language and choice of words to suit that platform.

As far as my reading on web content writing goes, writing posts over multiple days and then publishing them on Tumblr weekly creates a routine.

 The habit of regular posting ensures that you have fresh ideas to work on. You also get time to reflect and revise so that you do not need to rush things all at once. This structure replicates the real-world generative nature of web writing, which is often more frequent and smaller than one long assignment.
