It takes centuries for reefs to recover and no time at all for ignorant people to destroy them.
The decision to dump dredge spoil within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park is an outrage to Australians. It should never be allowed to proceed.
The United Nations has put us on notice that the Reef could be declared World Heritage in Danger

Last week, Environment Minister Greg Hunt caved to mining interests and approved the dredging and dumping of 3 million cubic metres of seabed in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area at Abbot Point.
