December 7, 2022 - The Aaliyah estate would announce their collaboration with Rainbow Shops to release Aaliyah inspired jewelry.
Aaliyah fans would take to Twitter to voice their dissatisfaction.
DID YOU KNOW: The admin that runs the Official Aaliyah account on IG and Twitter also runs the AaliyahApp accounts as well.
Her name is Jennifer Risinger and she was the "fan" who was acknowledged for running the AaliyahForMac campaigns (that she snatched off two other Aaliyah fans who were the creators of the campaign; they were never acknowledged for their roles in the campaign). Jennifer would be invited to the MAC Cosmetic Aaliyah event, and then invited to the unveiling of the Aaliyah wax figure in Las Vegas after being offered a job by the family to run their online resources - where AaliyahApp was created/launched.
Most OG Aaliyah fans (fans who are very involved in the Aaliyah community since DAY ONE) know Risinger as the TROLL of the Aaliyah community.
When ever the fan base supports anything that is against the family in ANY WAY (even when fans supported the release of Aaliyah music on streaming platforms - which was against the families wishes), Risinger would respond to fans using her AaliyahForMAC troll page calling fans losers, pathetic, fake, and mocks fans for having expectations.

Most OG fans are awaiting the day, the family says something to her, but most believe the family already know and do not care because she says what's on THEIR mind that they can't say publicly themselves.
On this date: June 14, 2018 M-A-C Cosmetics throws a MAC Aaliyah collection Launch Party on June 14, 2018 in Hollywood, California and invites Aaliyah's stylist Tre' Major & Derek Lee as well as Aaliyah's brother Rashad Haughton and many others. MAC would launch the products Online ONLY first June 20th then in stores June 21st.
Also invited was Jennifer Risinger (labeled as the Aaliyah fan who started the AaliyahForMAC campaign and petition using her AaliyahForMac FB and IG pages). Some fans voiced their dissatisfaction of Risinger being the “originator” of it all and lashed out that Risinger stole the idea from other fellow fans. This wouldn’t be the only “she’s a theft” story that fans share (but that will be another post in the future).
Many media outlets labeled and credited Risinger as the fan who came up with the idea especially due to her orchestrated, driven and executed plans to help lift the campaign into fruition (let’s not forget all those annoying posts and tags she would send out all across the world wide web to get signatures to help support the main objective).
With such deduction, the Haughton family hired Risinger to run the @aaliyahapp (which is today’s version of the old 2001 Aaliyah Street Team campaigns).

Barry Hankerson (Aaliyah’s uncle) founder of Blackground records, now being relaunched as Blackground 2.0 had a sit down with BILLBOARD to discuss why it took so long to release Aaliyah’s music.. and he gets emotional. A lot of this information is also mentioned in the new upcoming Aaliyah book (set to be available 8/17). Barry has always wanted to release the music but out of respect to Aaliyah’s mother, he did not. Late 2020, he finally got an indirect green light when the estate advised they would be cooperating to get her music released and this is why he released it after all this time. There is truly a lot of behind the scenes drama ☕ within the Hankerson-Haughton and I do hope they work it out. 20 years is a LONG time to not want to talk to family anymore and 20 years is also a long time to hold on to guilt and pain. Aaliyah is always about her family and I'm not sure how she would feel after huge separation. This man went 20 years possibly blaming himself for Aaliyah’s death. 😔 Because, It’s my understanding that it was him that wanting Aaliyah to release RTB as the summer song, despite her already completing a video for MTAW.
