Cleo also cares, but is not a conventionally good person. They want to do what’s right, but they are the judge of that. And they’re never wrong, at least to themself.

My favorite two are Pearl and Apo. Yeah, Apo is still a hotheaded, sarcastic person, but the part that people miss is that she’s kind. She cares so much about her friends that she pulls their souls back into their bodies when they die. She’s blunt, but kind.

For Pearl it’s kind of the opposite. She’s kind, but people miss that she’s also very smart. She s loyal to Cleo, but not to the point of stupidity or cruelness.

Apo is blunt but kind and Pearl is kind but smart.

All this to say you’ve made a story that’s more coherent and complex than actual TV shows. Out of a tumblr au. It’s amazing

Aaaaaa thank you so much! I've always tried to really respect each character the ccs portray and see their good and bad sides, you know? Every trait is good and bad. Being straightforward and blunt are the same thing, being manipulative and persuasive are the same thing, arrogance and insecurity are both negative, etc etc. Shelby's naivety comes from genuinely believing the best in people! Apo's blunt about when she doesn't like things, which means that if she's hanging around, she's having fun! If she's not complaining about something it doesn't bother her! Pearl isn't stupid, she has moral lines she won't cross and she's clear about them, and she... respects people's choices, I think. Pearl respects everyone's choices, which means respecting their choices to be her enemy and acting accordingly.
