I am about 6 yrs old & weigh approximately 43 lbs. I have been at the shelter since Dec 19, 2020 STAFF NOTES: 01/20/21 Took out to play yard. Leashed easily walks well on leash. Did challenge the other dogs as we passed by the kennels. Affectionate once in yard. Knows the sit command. Sits for treats & takes them gentley. Not interested in toys. JS 01/15/20 Sweet girl but seems to be a little on the scared side. Other tech pulled down the hose to rinse where she had gone to the bathroom & she slowly tip toed away from where she was & hid under & behind my legs, peaking her head out to see when it was safe to leave her safe zone. When the hose was put away, again she slowly came partially out but then decided, she liked being scratched more than exploring & stayed. ml 12/31/20 Temp tested with male Chihuahua Basenji mix. The tail on the female pit bull seemed "happy" & not too energetic. Her hackles weren't up, but she was very focused on the other dog. After starring at the littler dog for about 30 seconds she began to pull towards him & growl. The smaller dog was frozen until she started to growl, then he began growling as well. At this time, she did not pass her dog to dog temp test as she did show aggression. ml 12/21/20 Very nice dog and did well when moving her to general population. Allows me to enter kennel and pet her head. Stays clean in her kennel. when approaching her she will come to the front of the kennel. Sunshine arrived in the shelter a former mommy dog, with 2 puppies who were both adopted. She enjoys attention and loves people, per staff, just not other dogs (see temp test video 👉SWIPE RIGHT👉 and see notes below). Sunshine just wanted to be close with staff in the play yard. She’s been in the shelter a month with no interest.
