♣ My muse is terminally ill and breaks up with yours so that they don’t have to mourn them.
First thing Seolhyun felt was anger. How could Sona keep this from her? It was her life- her goddamn fucking life. A part of her was angry that Sona kept this from her, but another part was angry at herself. How had she not seen it sooner? She had spent months dating the ill girl, and hadn’t realised how fragile she was. She hadn’t even noticed how difficult it was for her do certain things. And here Seolhyun was, forcing her to go out on dates- to go bungee jumping, to go on roller coasters, to go skinny dipping.
Seolhyun was never the smartest tool in the shed, but with her limited knowledge, she knew that she had to take care of Sona and keep her inside and keep her as safe as possible. At first, Sona loved being taken care of and doted on. At first, Sona couldn’t help but smile knowing that Seolhyun was always going to be there for her. Always going to be doting and watching over her with a smile, doing anything and everything for her.
And then it got hard. With Seolhyun’s job and the pity party she always had for Sona was getting exhausting. Soon after, they learnt to detest one another. Seolhyun tried to do everything for Sona and the ill girl hated it. Seolhyun’s friends soon noticed how difficult it was for her to keep with Sona’s needs and how hard it was to keep the girl happy. After a long while, she finally came into terms with it. Sona was going to die. She would no longer be with her- no matter how many chicken soups she tried to force feed her.
One day, as she was fixing up some coffee for the pair, her words came out like vomit. “I can’t… I can’t do this anymore,” she couldn’t even look into her eyes. “I can’t live like this, though I try hard- it’s all going downhill, isn’t it? Nothing’s going to matter. You’re still going to…” die. The word never left her lips. “I’m sorry. I love you. But I can’t. I just can’t!” she shouted, frustration and fear obvious in her eyes. She took her coat, one more look towards Sona before running out.
