Stupid tricks that worked for me
I used to not brush my teeth on any sort of regular schedule. I do, however, shave on a quasi-regular basis. So, after my dentist suggested brushing when I shave, I put some of my shaving gear with my toothbrush and toothpaste. Now I brush my teeth every time I shave.
It’s only 2-4 times a week, but it’s probably a far cry better than “eh, once a month, maybe?”
I only wear white socks. I’m picky about pairing them, and it’s a pain.
I bought a new pack of ten pairs of socks. Then, before I wore any of them, I took a sharpie and put one dot on each sock near the big toe, and drew a unique number on each pair of socks. Now I just dump my clean socks out and match the symbols, and it makes it easy to tell when I loose socks. The dots tell me which sock goes on left and which goes on right.
I bought two identical laundry baskets, different from my family’s. They stack nicely. One basket for dirty laundry, and one basket for running laundry and for storing clean laundry until I get it put away.
I got fed up with breakfast. So I just up and decided “I’m going to have this sandwich for breakfast every day”. I buy more supplies roughly every four days (the limiting factor is bread going bad, and it comes in fours). I’ve eaten this probably nineteen mornings out of twenty for over a year now, and not having to think about breakfast works for me.
