I think hanged man Mona would be interesting! It feels fitting given his hesitation on a lot of things; if he really is or even wants to be human, his usefulness to the thieves, his place in the world and so on. There’s a lot of stuff that Mona just kinda silently struggles with the whole game and making him the hanged man would allow that to be explored at the forefront more

A ship I have with said character: Ren and Ryuji is absolutely my #1 ship. I think he’s close with most of the thieves but he wouldn’t date the girls bc he’s gay, he and Yusuke just don’t have chemistry (also I might HC Yusuke as ace? I’m not entirely sure) and while Akechi is definitely crushing on Ren for a bit, it’s one-sided, though they are close friends. Ryuji and Ren immediately hit it off from their first meeting and it’s a shock for both of them- Ryuji takes some time to come to terms with the fact that he’s bi, and Ren takes some time figuring out his sexuality in general, but they’re extremely close and trust each other so their relationship develops naturally.

A BROTP I have with said character: Ren and Futaba are obviously siblings and Ren and Morgana are very best friends, but I’ll focus on Akechi. Ren is the only one who really knows Akechi all that well before he joins the Thieves, and he’s the first one Akechi comes to after he returns (basically what my fic is abt shdjdbdb here’s ur plug to go read it). While the other Thieves do forgive and warm up to Akechi, it’s Ren who is most friendly and the easiest for him to hang out with. They spend a lot of time just playing games of chess in LeBlanc or talking over coffee, or other things like that.

A NOTP I have with said character: Ren x Futaba is especially nope to me bc I see them as siblings. It’s not enough for me to like, actively be uncomfortable seeing it, but I don’t see it and I wouldn’t ever want to ship it.

A random headcanon: This is one Vane actually inspired in me! Ren is particularly close with Arsène and keeps him on his team through the entire adventure, even using him in crucial moments like in the anime (he’s the one who takes down Loki in my opinion, like he does in the anime). Arsène becomes a comforting presence that Ren can feel and communicate with even outside of the metaverse and that feeling gives him strength.

🎭- I’m bad at coming up with personas but for vane, I thought up “Ingeborg”, named for the princess who was the historical origin of the “princess in a tower” myth, Princess Ingeborg of Denmark. Her husband, King Phillip II, after marrying her, quickly claimed that he could not be her husband, likely suspecting a quick end to the marriage, keeping her imprisoned in multiple castles over the years, which she endured, as he eventually gave up and reinstated her as the Queen of Denmark. This feels very fitting for Vane, who has endured a difficult struggle in a trapped situation for so long, and whose endurance will someday see her freed. Ingeborg’s primary element would be Bufu, bc Vane is really cool. Also bc Denmark. Ingeborg would visually resemble a traditional princess but whose dress is made of armor plating and stone, and whose head is locked inside a small cage, hidden from view. Her wrists are bound with broken chains.

♠️- Vane’s codename would be… Bear! Bc she is strong and tough like a bear, but also soft and cuddly and sweet, like a teddy bear. Vane’s weapon would primarily be axes, I think!! They feel fitting.

She wouldn’t get along with Akihiko at all, bc he’s too loud and between his tough-guy personality, his technology illiteracy, and the fact that he literally can’t talk to girls it would definitely end in disaster

She’d bond with Junpei over video games. They play a competitive game together and Junpei is shocked when she kicks his ass, then she teaches him how to maximize his character and play well

I headcanon that she’s kind of nervous around dogs but Koromaru is so friendly she’d come to really love him and spend some time at the SEES dorm lobby just playing video games with Koromaru and Morgana hanging around the couch by her

If Shinji is around in this timeline they’d get along incredibly well. Futaba infodumps abt her special interests to him while he cooks and he just quietly listens aside from the occasional “mmhmm” to show he’s listening, and then they eat together and he makes sure she’s god bc he thinks she’s too thin and doesn’t eat enough (he’s right)

She keeps stealing tech from Mitsuru which annoyed her at first but she came to find it endearing, and got to the stage where when she gets back from her work with the Kirijo Group she always brings back some new piece of tech for Futaba to play around with. They don’t talk much but Mitsuru probably takes an interest in her as a test subject or even challenges her to hack into the Kirijo Group’s servers to see how secure they are. When they fail to stop her Futaba goes “oh don’t feel bad, they’re still pretty solid. No common thief is gonna be able to pull of what the original Medjid is capable of.”

Yukari starts taking her out places to try and socialize her, goes clothes shopping with her, brings her to her favorite coffee shop, takes her music shopping and goes and sees movies with her, and encourages her bc she really respects Futaba’s unique fashion sense and personality and thinks she’s really cute and charming. As an elder trans wlw she also gives her dating advice dhjddb

Minato and Futaba barely speak to one another out loud but they get along extremely well, as two autistic and severely depressed kids who have struggled with suicidal thoughts. They’ll go outside at night and just sit in the park on their phones together, not saying anything but appreciating each other’s company. When Futaba gets paranoid thoughts or fears, Minato ensures he’ll protect her and helps calm her down, and then they go back to their quiet chill time

She also bonds with Ken over similar mother related traumas and situations, and they talk about tech stuff together since Ken has a growing interest in that sort of thing. They have a lot of quiet chats over a meal together and while they get along, they don’t really know how to act or talk to one another when they’re alone, but share a mutual respect and want to take care of each other however they can

She finds Aigis INCREDIBLY fascinating and spends a ton of time just asking her abt how she works, and just watching her behavior and being curious about it. She’s tempted to try and tinker with her systems and such but Minato reminds her that Aigis is an intelligent being and shouldn’t be messed with carelessly. Futaba knows this, she just gets excited over the ideas
