Wow, you and PK have once again taken something way too far (SU). It's fine to not like/hate an episode, but you are both so aggressive and rude when you confront someone and act so entitled that it's not even funny. The writers don't owe you anything. You're not paying them, they're not making episodes just for you. You don't realize you're crossing boundaries and stirring up negativity and people are getting sick of it. Stop terrorizing things/people who don't live up to your personal standard
Your smug, self-righteous, holier-than-thou attitude has made me so angry. I wasnāt gonna feel better until I let you know this, so here we are. By the way, it isnāt the rest of the fandom who has a problem. It isnāt the crew who has a problem. YOU have the problem. Your posts go beyond being negative. Theyāre toxic. Theyāre toxic to fans, and particularly artists. And your words have consequences.
you realize theyā¦Ā are paid for this, right?Ā like, this is their job.Ā their job is to make steven universe.
also i would like to remind you that this is PKās sole contribution to that entire reblog thread, and the only other notable thing she wrote was a long and heartfelt review of the episode, so iām not sure why she keeps being lumped into this.
i wasnāt even aiming at the writer.Ā i was replying to PK, which is why i reblogged PK, and not the original ask.Ā i made one snippy reply because i felt insulted, then elaborated when someone else got mad.
i wrote it for my blog, in response to my partner, because of how i felt about something.
naturally this ended up on the writerās dashboard anyway because tumblr is garbage and thereās really only the one way to thread responses.Ā but instead of doing something trivial like putting me on ignore (or just hitting refresh and letting the dozens of likes drown me out) he deleted the post, then made another, then deleted his blog, then locked his twitter, then i guess made some tweets and deleted those and i donāt know.
nothing i ever said was even directed to him.Ā if thatās still āharassingā, ābullyingā, and now āterrorizingā, well, uh, my bad.Ā it certainly wasnāt my intention for him to vanish from the internet.Ā but if all it took was one grouchy fan who cares a lot about details, iām frankly astounded that he was still here.
iām actually rather dismayed that a penchant for detail is being devalued here ā iāve seen a screenshot of an ask someone sent him, saying that the people talking about āconsistencyā donāt care as much as they say they do.Ā well, yes, i do, tyvm.Ā that shouldnāt be a huge surprise or a bad thing for a show with a main character who exhibits traits of genuine OCD.
meanwhile the vitriol said of me (most of it not by name, granted, which is nice) has been far more mean-spirited than anything i said in the first place.Ā and has come largely from people who then congratulate themselves for being part of such an otherwise friendly and chill fandom.Ā weird, the things people say when they feel slighted.
emphasis that the show isnāt made just for me has been a somewhat common theme as well.Ā but it isnāt made just for you or anyone else, either, so why should anyone care when you like an episode?Ā it seems like the same reasoning applies.
i donāt feel entitled to anything here, btw.Ā but it looked like it had been trying to be an amazing series, and iām deeply alarmed and worried to see the bar suddenly drop so low, twice in not so many weeks.
itās certainly the staffās prerogative to make whatever quality product they want.Ā but they have shown theyāre willing to put amazing and brilliant effort into character development and motivation and continuity.Ā to go from that to last weekās episode was crushing.
fear not; i will channel my frustrations more constructively + coherently in the future.Ā but i canāt not be frustrated when things arenāt as good as i know they could be.
if it makes you feel any better, that means iām basically always frustrated with everything.
