Spectrum, one of Wellesley's queer orgs, will be holding elections next week and anyone is welcome to apply! The following applicable positions are

We would also really enjoy having liasons to any of the cultural orgs (WAA, CSA, etc.) so PLEASE apply if this would interest you. 

Send statements of intent to [email protected] before midnight on Monday, April 14th. Elections will begin the following Thursday, April 17. 

If you would like to be on the Executive board of Hippocratic Society for 2014-2015, submit a Statement of Intent! 

  Elections will be held at our next general meeting on Monday, April 14 (SCI 277 and 7-8pm) 

You must need to submit an electronic statement of intent by NOON, Friday April 11, 2014 to [email protected] and [email protected].

Candidates should plan a 3-5 minute speech for the general meeting on April 14th. 

    Some FAQs:

A. Who can run? Anyone who has been an active Hippo member for at least one semester.

B. Can multiple people run for one position? Yes, all positions, except vice president, secretary, historian.

C. Can one individual run for more than one position? No.

The PINANSKI TEACHING PRIZE is awarded annually to members of the Wellesley College faculty to honor excellent teaching across the curriculum. Faculty, staff, and students may submit nominations that offer specific, illustrative examples of excellent teaching. To be eligible for nomination, faculty members should have taught at least one course at Wellesley since the 2010-2011 school year. An individual may make multiple nominations for different faculty and previous nominations may be resubmitted.

Prize winners are announced at Commencement. Citations describing the particular forte of each recipient will be read at Commencement so that the descriptions can serve on that occasion as public symbols of the College’s regard for their high quality teaching. Citations are written, in part, using language from the nominations.

In the past, the prizes were awarded with reference to the three academic areas of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Recognizing that a number of faculty are appointed to interdisciplinary departments, reference to these three areas will no longer guide committee recommendations.

The Pinanski Prize Committee, composed of past prize winners and three seniors selected by the College Government Student Organization Appointment Process, works with the chair of the committee to prepare prize recommendations for President Bottomly. This year, faculty members include: Tracy Gleason, Professor of Psychology; Lisa Rodensky, Caspersen Associate Professor in the Humanities and Associate Professor of English; and Orit Shaer, Clare Booth Luce Assistant Professor of Computer Science. Student members include: Katherine Leung, Shirin Maani, and Kendrick Smaellie. Class Deans Jennifer Stephan and Joy Playter chair the committee.

Nominations may be submitted electronically through MyWellesley. After logging in, select the tab for your group: students, faculty, or employment services (for staff). In the Administrivia section, select Pinanski Teaching Prize Nomination.

The nomination process closes at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
