September 9, 2021: #999 Day
Today, the Duke of Cambridge met with members of live-saving occupations to thank them for their services. These included the NHS and emergency services. His Royal Highness has been a champion of this sector and has personal connections to it through his own work as a Search and Rescue Pilot. He spoke with those that saved lives and those whose lives have been saved by these remarkable people.
The Duke of Cambridge is the patron of several organizations that are commemorated on 999 Day. These include London's Air Ambulance Charity, Metropolitan & City Police Orphans Fund, Mountain Rescue Council England & Wales and NHS Charities Together. He has also spoken about the issues of mental health in these sectors and contributed greatly through the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
