ive seen different takes on eiffel's ending and i keep thinking amnesia was not. the way to go for him (it was very fitting for pryce. sadly speaking. she literally couldn't get a worse ending). amnesiac!eiffel as a character who struggled to take responsibility for things he'd done and that now suddenly finds himself tied to obligations he doesn't even remember would have been a banger concept explored in canon, but as it stands i feel like deciding to give up his memory was the easy way out for him. decidedly easier than kepler sabotaging the mission, minkowski killing cutter and hera facing pryce. my #unpopular take is that hera should have been the one to lose her memory if they truly wanted to make it a tragedy (last scene between her and pryce, both amnesiac, finding their voice is the same and not really knowing why). which is why i cannot conceptualize a post-canon where he doesn't get his memories back (and, therefore, so does pryce)

will never be able to get behind the interpretation of pryce and cutter that sees cutter as an abusive father figure who warped her sense of morality or whatever for a variety of reasons (one of them being that i find it very boring). however, the main reason for me is that i want to believe the writers thought the story through at least mildly and if THAT was what they were going for then not only pryce's treatment by the narrative is twice as ableist but her ending is downright criminal. and id rather not be angry about the finale more than i already am

sorry still here. but how can you word-of-god say that it would be easier for cutter to survive without pryce than pryce without cutter (crazy statement when the finale heavily implies that he remained alive thanks to her. I will be young and you will be whole) and then not at least CONSIDER that this takes away everything that there’s good about the finale. it is one thing to take away bodily autonomy and agency from a person whose own disabilities and warped conception of reality leading her to deprive others of agency. it is a whole other thing to take agency and bodily autonomy away from someone who never truly had them in the first place. not only. but to say that it would be easier for cutter to survive without pryce rather than viceversa implies a certain infantilization of pryce which I find ableist in itself. lmao.

I think we don’t say that Lovelace was in the us army enough like. pretty essential bit of her character that people always leave out when gushing over her.

cutter was probably the only person on earth able to— don’t want to say build a friendship because whatever they have going on is weirder but like— build THAT with pryce and I guess it took a special mixture of craziness, unabashed confidence, zero anxiety but also an intellect impressive enough for pryce to put up with an insanely exhausting personality so like. kudos to him in truth

cannot really blame anyone who gives up on w359 halfway through s1 because Eiffel is one of the most annoying protagonists in existence. he kinda grows on you by the end (like mold) but damn if the process isn’t long and infuriating
