Dear Jian,

First of all, I’d like to thank you for being one of the few in my life that I can actually call 오빠! There’s something about the way I’m able to call you that that makes my insides warm – I have a feeling that it’s because I’ve wanted a real older brother ever since I was a child (it was a little lonely growing up on my own) but that might not be it either… HMM! I can’t put my finger on it – but there’s something about calling you 오빠 that comes to me so… naturally? It’s there on the tip of my tongue, bursting from the crevices of my diaphragm and forth from my throat every time I see you.

I don’t think I tell you how much I cherish you enough, though I hope I show it in my actions, at least! You’re a precious 오빠 to me – one that spoils me silly and I know that you’re a man of few words but even so, this baby tomato is a hundred percent okay with it! Two hundred percent! You don’t say much, but I feel like the cliché of ‘Cold heart warm hands’ was made for Jian. 

I’d like to tell you about the day you told me that I was the first person you actually liked receiving hugs from. You can’t see it – but even as I’m writing now my toes are curling and I’m smiling so hard that I’m biting down on the insides of my cheeks, because that’s how happy I was. I’m sure that things have changed now, of course, I’m sure you receive tons of hugs from tons of people but being such an intrinsically selfish person I like to remember that I was the first. It’s never easy being #1 and goodness knows I’m used to always being the runner-up (boo!) but when you opened up to me about that I felt like I’d won the lottery. 

And I know you say I’m always over-reacting and I’m always too happy and loud for my own good (or anyone else’s for that matter) and please believe me when I say that this little sinnamon roll is working hard on it! I promise to talk more quietly around you and be more in control of my actions… I just tend to be a little flustered, is all! Give me some time, ‘mmkay, 오빠 ?

I feel like…. it’s been a century and a half since we’ve properly talked. I miss waking up, looking forward to talking to you in the morning and talking to you before I fall asleep (although short, it was really fun while that lasted for a few days). I understand that you’re busy with your job at Lotte (my personal superhero!) but please remember to eat well and sleep well too, okay? Hydrate yourself and get plenty of rest and continue to work hard – I’ll be here missing your sandwiches. I love you and I miss you so much!
