Dean hears his dad slam the front door from the back of the house. Then he hears exactly what he expected. Of course, his dad has discovered Dean is not, in fact, waiting for him in the car.

“Dean, you’d better get your ass out here! We got stuff to do! Get out here before I have to find you and lay hands on you, boy!”

Dean peeks up from behind the woodpile - he doesn’t expect to see Sam standing at the back door behind the screen, though.

“Dean, please go,” he whispers. I don’t want him to hurt you. Please.”

This was not part of his plan. Sam was going to ruin it, without even knowing it.

Dean shakes his head at his brother slowly. Just then, Sam looks at something behind him and quickly retreats inside, closing the door behind him

“Shit!” Dean thinks. He stands, ready to barge in and fight. 

He doesn’t get two steps before a hand closes over his mouth, pulling his arms behind him.

“Gotcha.”
